About Fionn
I’ve been teaching guitar for several years, working with students of all ages and abilities. My own playing is rooted in acoustic, blues, folk, and traditional Irish music, and I have a strong passion for fingerstyle guitar. Over the years, I’ve performed live both as a solo guitarist and as part of different groups, which has given me a solid understanding of rhythm, collaboration, and performance skills that I love sharing with my students. As a teacher, I believe patience and encouragement are key — every student learns differently, and my role is to support your growth at your pace. I also draw on my background in music theory to explain how songs and chord progressions work in a way that feels practical and accessible. Above all, I enjoy helping students find confidence, creativity, and joy in making music.

Every student has their own musical journey, and my lessons are built around your goals, interests, and current level of experience. Whether you’re a beginner picking up the guitar for the first time or a more advanced player looking to refine your sound, we’ll focus on what inspires you. Want to master fingerstyle patterns, learn traditional Irish tunes, explore blues improvisation, or just play your favorite songs with confidence? I’ll tailor each session to fit your personal interests and learning style. You decide the direction, and I provide the guidance, structure, and techniques to get you there. Along the way, we’ll also weave in the essentials of chord progressions and music theory in a clear, practical way — always connected to the music you love. My aim is to help you enjoy playing guitar while steadily improving your skills.

Lessons are 45 Minutes long. I'm happy to offer a free online consultation before the first lesson unfortunately I have to charge the full price for lessons at your home. Lessons can take place at your house (plus travel cost), my house or at the University of Galway.
