About Una
I am a guitar tutor with ten years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance and Modern Styles. I work with students at all levels, from beginners to advanced performers, helping them develop technical skill, creative expression, and stage readiness. My teaching approach is adaptive, student-centered, and engaging. I incorporate theory, improvisation, repertoire study, and performance practice to provide a holistic learning experience. Lessons emphasize technical mastery, personal expression, and artistic confidence. Beyond teaching, I actively perform in diverse genres and explore contemporary pedagogical techniques. I mentor students in composition, improvisation, and stage presence, guiding them to achieve musical excellence. My aim is to nurture expressive, skilled, and confident guitarists capable of thriving in a variety of musical contexts.

My guitar lessons emphasize technical mastery, expressive playing, and performance confidence. Beginners learn fundamental chords, finger positioning, basic strumming patterns, and rhythm. Intermediate learners progress to scales, melodic phrasing, fingerstyle techniques, and improvisation. Advanced students refine complex solos, stylistic interpretation, and stage presence. Lessons incorporate sight-reading, ear training, and repertoire practice spanning classical, jazz, rock, and contemporary genres. I focus on fostering creativity, personal expression, and musical identity. Mistakes are viewed as valuable steps in the learning process, encouraging patience, resilience, and self-assurance.
Lessons include exercises for finger strength, coordination, and picking precision. Repertoire is selected to challenge students while remaining engaging and enjoyable. Performance-based activities, improvisation, and mock recitals build confidence and real-world musical experience.
I also guide students in musical interpretation, phrasing, and stylistic nuance. Each session balances technical skill, creative exploration, and practical application. Students gradually develop independence, versatility, and confidence, capable of performing in solo and ensemble settings with expressive authenticity.
