About Jason
Jason is a Chinese Shaolin mixed martial arts instructor with over 30 years of personal practice and more than 20 years of teaching experience (teaching since 2006). He is a second-generation Kung Fu black sash and currently teaches at three different schools, working with students from early childhood through older adults. His background includes Wing Chun with deep lineage roots, Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, Seven Star Praying Mantis, Shuai Jiao (Chinese wrestling), Taekwondo, Hapkido, Chinese Kenpo, and Shaolin Longfist, with honorary black belts in Kuk Sool Won and Goju-Ryu (剛柔流). Jason provides professional, structured instruction focused on confidence, discipline, and practical self-defense.

My approach as a tutor is based on private, individualized martial arts instruction rather than group or gym-style training. I teach Chinese Shaolin mixed martial arts with a strong focus on Wing Chun, Shuai Jiao (Chinese wrestling), and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. Instruction is given by Jason in a private lesson format, similar to the traditional approach where masters taught students directly in their homes. Lessons can take place in your home or a secure public or open space of your choosing, depending on what you are most comfortable with.
The first session is used to assess movement, coordination, mindset, experience level, injuries, and personal goals. From there, I design a personalized martial arts training curriculum tailored to the individual’s age, body type, and needs. The focus is on practical self-defense, controlled power, and functional skill transfer. Techniques are tested, refined, and taught in layers so students retain what they learn without being overwhelmed. Lessons are suitable for beginners through advanced students seeking confidence, capability, and real-world fighting skills.

Online lessons are priced slightly lower while still providing focused guidance, technical correction, and meaningful skill development.
