About Jamie
Music is my passion and I am working day and night to make it into a sustainable career. One surefire way to do that is teaching!. The last two years have been dedicated to regular gigs at venues such as the Paris Cat, and composing a range of works to fill my professional portfolio. in 2025, Im also recording two albums with some bands that I sideman, and one that I run and write all the music for, Free Parking Horn Trio. Look forward to meeting and making some music with you!

I believe in a methodical and structured approach to lessons that follows the interests of a student. Lessons are best suited to a 30-45 minute timeframe, which can cover a range of skills from beginner to emerging pro. The lessons i offer can cover any of my familiar musical areas of soprano/alto/tenor saxophones, clarinet, improvisation composition, jazz theory and sightreading.
Currently studying at the conservatorium with multiple grants and a student excellence grant. I love music and everything that surrounds it, and look forward to passing that on to my students.

Jamie is very good at communicating the complexities of music theory. His teaching style is engaging and makes complex concepts easy to grasp. He creates a comfortable learning environment, and his passion for music is contagious. Would highly recommend.
I had Jamie for 3x 2 hour sessions towards the end of last year while I was completing yeah 12 IB. He was excellent! Incredibly patient, insightful and helpful especially while tutoring me in English. He always found a way to push me to come up with new ways at looking at questions and helped me a lot with generally structuring my ideas.
Jamie has been a great tutor! He’s very attentive to my needs and has the patience to go through things I need further clarification on. Additionally helps me with thorough feedback for assignments, working to help me improve my work. Also great, spaced repetition; he would keep checking up on me for things I found difficult in previous lessons. Overall, its been wonderful having him as a tutor!
