I reached out to Floriane requesting help with Algebra 2. I'd fallen behind during the semester and had forgotten a lot of the Algebra 1 basics. During our first sessions, she was very patient with me as I struggled with the content at first. She went through the steps thoroughly and at a meaningful pace, asking me to fill in the blanks and help solve problems after watching her do it. We would often structure practice after videos and note-taking, which helped with retention. After a couple sessions, I was caught up to the stuff I was doing in class and felt so much better about tests and homework, but I continued with her throughout the year! Specifically because of how well she'd explain things and check-in with me about how I was doing and if I needed her to switch gears or explain things differently.
