About Gabriela

I am a first-generation heritage speaker who bridges the gap between natural fluency and structured education. Raised bilingual under the immersive guidance of my grandmother, I possess an innate command of authentic Spanish cadence, pronunciation, and cultural nuances. Because I grew up in an English-speaking country, I uniquely understand the cognitive mechanics of how an English-thinking brain processes Spanish. This dual perspective allows me to anticipate your bottlenecks and provide clear, logical solutions that traditional textbooks completely overlook.
My professional teaching methodology relies on a signature "Sound & Structure Matrix" designed to build immediate confidence. Rather than forcing passive memorization, I use a communication-first approach that features meticulous phonetic breakdowns of the Spanish alphabet and direct syntactical comparisons to English grammar. Every 60-minute lesson follows a strategic, predictable format: an immersive warm-up, an analytical grammatical breakdown, targeted phonetic drills, contextual real-world roleplay, and a final milestone evaluation to track your progress.

About the lesson

Forget rigid textbook drilling and intimidating grammar tables. Because I learned Spanish naturally at home from my grandmother, my teaching method focuses entirely on natural language acquisition rather than just memorization. I use a unique "Sound & Structure" technique tailored for absolute beginners. We break down the Spanish alphabet using phonetic English hacks to understand proper pronunciation. I also simplify grammar by mapping Spanish sentence structures directly against English logic, making verbs and gender agreements feel like intuitive puzzles rather than stressful chores.
Every 60-minute lesson is structured to build your speaking confidence quickly without overwhelming you. We start with a 10-minute conversational warm-up to get your brain switched into Spanish mode. Next, we spend 15 minutes on a grammatical breakdown, taking a single building block—like the present tense—and simplifying it. Then, we do a 10-minute alphabet and pronunciation drill focusing on tricky vowels and letter sounds. We follow this with 20 minutes of active roleplay to use what you learned, and finish with a 5-minute review of your daily wins.
I am a first-generation heritage speaker. I was born in this country, but I was raised on the authentic, vibrant Spanish passed down by my grandmother. This gives me a unique superpower as your tutor: I am the ultimate bridge. Teachers who grew up entirely abroad sometimes struggle to understand why English speakers get confused by Spanish sentence structures. Because I live in both worlds, I know exactly how an English-thinking brain processes Spanish. I understand your exact hurdles and have the firsthand experience to help you overcome them quickly.
These lessons are custom-built for true beginners and intermediate learners who want to stop hesitating and start speaking. They are perfect for complete beginners starting from absolute zero who need a patient environment to learn the alphabet and basic rules. They are also ideal for high school or college students who pass their written tests but struggle with oral speaking exams. Finally, I cater to travelers and professionals who need practical, conversational Spanish for upcoming trips, workplace communication, or interacting with Spanish-speaking family and community members.
