About Jocelyn
With over 8 years of experience and a background in Chemistry and Environmental Science, I’ve spent years making chemistry fun for middle school students. I specialize in turning ordinary kitchen items into exciting science tools. From explaining reactions in baking to creating color-changing liquids, I use safe, hands-on experiments that bring science to life. Kids love it, and they learn without even realizing how much. I focus on concepts like chemical changes, mixtures, and properties of matter through fun visuals and relatable topics. Every lesson is a chance to explore something new. I create a warm and welcoming space where students feel excited to ask questions. Learning chemistry should be joyful, not stressful—and I’m here to make sure it is.

Chemistry becomes much easier when students learn how to think step-by-step. That’s how I teach topics like stoichiometry, balancing reactions, and reaction rate problems.
Each lesson begins with a simple example and grows into more complex challenges. I guide students carefully so they can work independently and with confidence.
My teaching includes lots of practice and error correction. We talk through problems, focus on common mistakes, and always double-check our work.
I also support students who are passionate about life sciences, like Cell Explorers or Biotech Dreamers. I make sure they get chemistry guidance that’s relevant to their interests.
By the end of each session, students understand what they’re doing and why it matters.
