About Martyn
I have been a musician and an actor since I was 7 years old. I understand the importance of an ethical, passionate and, most importantly, fun teacher who cultivates passions, whatever the end goal is.
I have and still work professionally as an actor, musician and writer so I am very up to date with performance in the world today and nothing brings me more joy than seeing that little light bulb click and massive steps being taken under my tuition.

Having trained as both an actor and a musician I feel strongly the connection between both mediums and how things like rhythm, melody, listening and expression grounds us to the way we use our voices and movement.
My approach to teaching focuses on how we listen to each other and how the power of ourselves, our work and our performances rely on both the self and also the other - even if that other is a panelist for a drama school audition or an interviewee for a new job.
I work closely with text ranging from Shakespeare right up to our contemporary writers who are writing for our London theatres today. I also encourage writing to have an insight into the other side of our work - as a writer myself, this has been invaluable to my acting work.
