About Taraya
I am a passionate French tutor with over 14 years of teaching experience, specialising in helping college students build strong and confident French language skills. I believe learning a language should be practical, enjoyable, and meaningful, not stressful or boring. My goal is to help students use French naturally in real-life situations, both academic and professional.
My teaching style is student-centred and flexible. I carefully understand each student’s learning level, goals, and challenges before designing lessons. Some students want to improve speaking skills, while others focus on grammar, writing, or exam preparation. I adapt my teaching methods to meet these needs and ensure steady progress.
I use innovative teaching techniques such as real-life examples, role-plays, conversation practice, short videos, and interactive exercises. Instead of memorising rules, students learn how French is actually spoken and used. I also connect lessons to daily life, college subjects, travel, and career-related situations, making learning more practical and interesting.
I strongly believe in motivation and positive reinforcement. I create a safe and supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. Regular feedback, clear explanations, and structured practice help students gain confidence and accuracy over time.

My French teaching methodology is student-centred, interactive, and practical, combining creativity, communication, compassion, and problem-solving to help students develop fluency, confidence, and a genuine passion for the language.
I encourage creativity through storytelling, role-play, and cultural exploration. Students practise French in realistic scenarios, making lessons engaging while helping them apply grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation effectively.
Communication is central to my approach. I provide a safe and supportive environment where students can speak, listen, and write freely, improving clarity, fluency, and self-confidence.
I teach with compassion, recognising that each learner has unique needs. I provide guidance, encouragement, and personalised feedback to help learners overcome challenges and progress successfully.
Problem-solving is integrated through grammar exercises, comprehension tasks, and interactive challenges, strengthening both practical language skills and analytical thinking.
In addition to French, I teach literature, writing, and related subjects. My goal is to create lessons that are immersive, motivating, and results-driven, helping students enjoy and excel in French.
