How the sessions usually go. I ask beforehand which section students would like to focus on and prep a lesson according to that. Start off with some recall and revision from the previous session. Followed by a few minutes of theory and background info about what the "big idea" is behind doing well in each topic. I then do different little exercises to build the different skills individually for that section for about 10 to 20 mins. After that I do a worked example including all the different skills showing him/her how to approach different parts of the problem and then let him/her try similar problems by themself, helping along the way if he/she gets stuck by giving hints and guiding instead of just giving the solution. I'll send a pdf of the notes and worked examples after the lesson.
