About Madalina
Hi! Allow me to formally introduce myself. My name is Madalina and I am currently training as a Chemistry teacher, working towards Qualified Teacher Status. I recently graduated from the University of Bristol, however, prior to this, I attended a state school which was often placed under Special Measures by Ofsted. The lack of support, and the lack of quality teaching in general, angered me immensely. It made me particularly anxious during exam periods and made me lose confidence in my own academic abilities. This experience encouraged me to start tutoring four years ago, and ultimately, to pursue teaching. My goal is to help those who have been let down by the education system, who wish to become more confident in their preferred subject or who simply want to expand their knowledge beyond that taught as part of the curriculum.

No two students have the same learning style, and therefore no two sessions should be the same. These will be tailored to the needs of each student in order to ensure that they get the most out of each tutoring session. I believe exam technique is just as important as understanding the content, and is something that is guaranteed to be incorporated as part of each session. My aim is not to bombard you with information and expect you to regurgitate it during your exam, but instead, teach you how to decipher questions, truly understand the content and apply the content learnt so as to maximise the number of marks obtained. I am confident teaching different exam boards and wherever I can, I try to provide summary notes for the different topics covered. Something I found particularly useful whilst studying for my exams was looking over the examiner's comments. It provides a good insight into the examiner's mind but it also serves as an indicator of what is expected of you and where do most people go wrong.
