About Josephine
I'm Josephine or Jo for short! I am currently a Master of Professional Psychology canditate at the ANU. I really love both teaching and learning, as I know how vital it is to have a good teacher or tutor when you're in school. Connecting with people, especially children, is a really big passion of mine, as I hope to someday become a clinical psychologist. While I'm studying, I find that I get so much joy out of helping others grow to be more confident in the subject that I loved most when I was in school. I am a very effective, clear communicator, and will always put the needs of my students first. Having worked in both tutoring and childcare in addition to my university studies, I understand the balance of responsibility and fun that need to go into every lesson. I will always meet my students where they are and strive to be a good friend to them as well as a tutor.

I'm a tutor with 3+ years of experience in English lessons and childcare. I always favour positive reinforcement and empathy when teaching, as I am very passionate about showing students that I am listening to them and will always meet them wherever they may be. I firmly believe in adapting my teaching approach to the preferences and needs of my students and am happy to try many different tactics and methods when explaining a new concept. I work best when I can make my students feel excited about and personally connected to the work we do, which is what I strive for in every lesson. For the past three years, I have been tutoring independently and with Cluey Learning, mainly with primary and a few high school students. I typically run lessons for an hour virtually . As an ANU student completing a psychology postgraduate degree, I have a keen interest in working with children and young people. For these reasons, I am a really passionate tutor and love helping others learn!
