About Sofia
I'm an italian classical saxophonist, finishing her Master in Switzerland.
I was a member of the EUYO (European Union Youth Orchestra) from 2020 till 2022, i won the ESKAS scholarship, the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for Foreign musicians and artists.
During the years i developed a huge passion for jazz, folk and yes, also for contemporary music.
Before approaching the orchestras world, i've always played in wind orchestras, where i learnt that music is meant to be played together.
I still practice everyday and I'll probably never stop, because if i don't pactice my students are gonna notice it;)

From the "first breath" to the already advanced students, i do believe that the right setting of the embouchure, of the breathing and the way to think music can be a game changer for every musician.
Playing music must be fun, and during the years i tried out many different methods to let students find their way.
I usually mix technical exercises and music within the same lesson: as every football player must warm up before the match, we're supposed to do the same too!
Anyway, the techniques i teach are never standard, i always listen to the student to find out what's the problem, and which exercise could solve it.
I like to know the musical background of my students, to know where to focus and on which musical style we should work on.
The age of my students goes from 7 till 70 years old, it's never too late;)
