About Shruti
My fascination with architecture started early, inspired by urban landscapes, buildings, and the interplay between space and human experience. This passion led me to pursue a B.Arch and an M.Arch in Urban Design, where I studied creative design approaches, structural principles, sustainable planning, and professional methodologies. Over the past 8 years, I have guided students in transforming abstract ideas into tangible, well-considered architectural solutions. I believe in a student-centered teaching approach that adapts to individual learning styles and interests. I combine structured explanations, visual demonstrations, and hands-on exercises to make complex design concepts approachable. My aim is to nurture both creativity and discipline, helping students grow in confidence and clarity while expressing their unique design vision. Outside teaching, I engage in urban design research, sustainability studies, and project analysis, which I integrate into my lessons to provide real-world relevance and inspiration. Witnessing students progress from initial sketches to fully realized projects, gaining both technical mastery and creative expression, is deeply rewarding. I am committed to helping learners discover their architectural voice and develop skills that will support their academic and professional journeys.

Architecture comes alive when students can see how concepts translate into tangible spaces and practical solutions. In my lessons, I focus on design principles, spatial reasoning, material understanding, model-making, and architectural representation. I create a supportive environment where learners are encouraged to explore ideas freely while also developing the discipline to plan, organize, and execute designs effectively. Each session blends theoretical guidance with hands-on activities, making complex concepts approachable and engaging.
For beginners, lessons focus on foundational elements such as sketching, layout composition, and basic 3D visualization. Intermediate students explore advanced design strategies, structural understanding, and integration of functional and aesthetic considerations. Advanced learners focus on professional-level design projects, portfolio development, presentation skills, and innovative problem-solving approaches. Through these stages, students gain confidence in expressing their creative ideas clearly and methodically.
Learning architecture develops not only creative ability but also critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Students become adept at analyzing spatial challenges, balancing aesthetic and functional requirements, and articulating their design intent effectively. My goal is to help learners develop both a professional design mindset and a personal creative identity, equipping them with the confidence and skillset needed for academic and career success in architecture.
