About Lis

I am a table tennis coach with over 30 years of experience as a player and over 20 years as a coach in different clubs in Spain. I have experience with children and adults. + Technical knowledge of the different styles of play. England Coach Licence LEVEL 2 I was a professional player in the highest league in Spain for many years. As a coach I went to national tournaments with the best players of my area with really good results for all of them. I have 10 years of experience in schools. I have been in so many different countries learning different techniques about how to teach table tennis.

About the lesson

I am an active and proactive woman, passionate about table tennis since I was 7 years old and always with a huge smile on my face. The best memories of my life have been with a racket in my hands. Always working as a team and focusing on concentration, coordination and personal challenge. I adapt the lessons to you and your personal goals. I strongly believe that working on your technique is the first step to becoming a table tennis player!!

Perfect! Lis teaches both our children and myself, and she does it with such joy, it’s contagious. With less than a handful of classes, our game has already significantly improved. Lis also co-runs a table tennis academy-type organisation, so our children have already had experience with a tournament, which has only increased their enjoyment of the sport. I learned table tennis a couple of months ago in the club Lis runs with another coach, the club they run created a very friendly and encouraging environment, as a beginner I felt very welcomed for me to learn table tennis there. Lis is good player herself and at the same time a very experienced coach, she gave me a lot of advise during one to one coaching and even helping me out to correct my posture when I was casually playing with my friends.

What age did you start playing sport? Tell us about this time or moment in your life.
I started playing sports when I was 7 years old,. It was such an exciting time in my life, full of discovery and energy. I remember feeling a sense of freedom and joy every time I participated. It was a moment where I realised how much I loved being active and challenging myself.
What are your favourite sports; those that you practice at a high level, a simple hobby, and a sport that you'd still like to discover?
My favourite sports are Table tennis, Pilates and Boxeo. I practise Table tennis at a high level, which pushes me to always improve and stay disciplined. As a hobby, I enjoy Pilates, as it helps me relax and have fun. A sport I'd love to discover is Boxeo because it seems exciting and offers a completely new challenge.
What gives you the motivation and passion to pursue your sport?
What motivates me is the constant opportunity to grow and improve. The passion comes from how sport makes me feel-strong, focused, and connected to others who share the same drive. It's also incredibly rewarding to see the results of hard work and dedication.
Do you have a sporting achievement that you're particularly proud of?
Yes, one of my proudest achievements is Champion of Spain. It was a moment where all my efforts paid off, and it made me realise what I'm capable of when I set my mind to something.
How have your achievements and challenges made you a better sportsperson?
Both achievements and challenges have taught me resilience and perseverance. They've helped me understand that success comes from not only talent but also consistent effort and the ability to learn from setbacks.
If you had to go for a jog with a famous athlete, who would you choose? And what questions would you ask them?
I would choose J.O WALDNER. I'd ask them about their mental preparation before big events, how they stay motivated through tough times, and what advice they'd give to aspiring athletes.
How do you help people stay motivated?
I encourage them to focus on their goals and celebrate small victories along the way. I also share my own experiences and remind them that progress takes time and effort. Keeping a positive mindset and finding joy in the process is key.
