About Christy
I earned my degree in Studio Art from CSU Channel Islands and have continued to nurture my love of art through painting, drawing, DIY projects, and selling my artwork at Venice Fest and other outdoor markets in Los Angeles. I’ve also nannied and babysat throughout my life, so working with children feels very natural to me. I’m patient, encouraging, and genuinely love helping kids feel proud of themselves as they learn. My goal is to create a warm, calm, and creative space where students feel safe to explore, work through "mistakes", try new materials, and build confidence in their own ideas.

Hi! I'm Christy. I’m a studio art graduate from CSU Channel Islands with a lifelong love of painting, drawing, DIY projects, movement, creativity, and working with kids. I’ve sold my own artwork at Venice Fest and other outdoor markets around Los Angeles, I care most about helping kids trust their imagination, explore new materials, and feel confident expressing themselves.
My tutoring style is playful, patient, and confidence-building. I believe children learn best when they feel safe to explore, make mistakes, and discover their own artistic voice. A typical lesson would include a short warm-up drawing exercise, an age-appropriate skill or technique, and a creative project using drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, or simple DIY materials. I like to balance structure with freedom, so students learn real art foundations while still feeling proud of their unique ideas.
What sets me apart is my combination of art education, hands-on creative experience, and years of nannying and babysitting children throughout my life. I genuinely love kids and understand how to meet them with patience, humor, flexibility, and encouragement!
My lessons are best for young beginners, especially elementary-aged children through 5th grade, who want to build creativity, confidence, and basic art skills in a fun, low-pressure environment.
