13 years ago, I realized that all this complexity that happens in the world has one thing in common - the underlying logic and language that ties it all together, Math. Throughout my education in Pure Mathematics I was able to see that the study of math brought me closer to the logic of the universe, it gave me the tools to think about reality in a deeper and much more meaningful way.

My interest in private tutoring is a very natural extension of what I feel for math, it is just my way to inspire others to see math with the same curiosity as I do!

I teach almost all Math Levels such as AP Calculus, Precalculus, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, SAT Preparation, ACT Preparation, (and even the very basics of Math if needed.)
for any curriculums such as Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate (HL, SL, MYP and PYP), Cambridge (IGCSE, O Level and A Level).

My favorite things to discuss with students are the justifications for why something is true instead of just taking it at face value.
  • 3) Apakah Anda memiliki seorang yang menjadi role model Anda; seperti seorang guru yang menginspirasi Anda hingga kini?

My biggest idol in math is Grant Sanderson, from the channel 3blue1brown on YouTube. The way he communicates and explains math is so mind blowing!

Passion!! Everything else we can learn along the way… patience, teaching skills, methodology, good communication etc. You can be forgiven for lacking some of these secondary qualities because they can be developed with effort and dedication, but passion makes or breaks an instructor.

When I was teaching Probability to high school students, we decided to experiment with dice. We formed small groups and each group was given some dice. Each group was asked to roll the dice 100 times and record how many times an even number and an odd number appeared and we compared the results.

I showed students that if the dice were perfect, then theoretically, the probability of getting an even or an odd number should be equal, i.e. 1/2. However, when we looked at their dice roll results, we found that there was significant variation between the groups.

Then, the students started asking questions and looking for explanations about why this happened. We started a discussion about the irregularities and imprecision that might occur in the dice experiment. They start to consider factors such as the style of throw, the surface on which the dice are rolled, or perhaps the imperfections of the dice themselves.

This conversation opens a window into the world of statistics and allows students to see that probability is really about modeling real world phenomena which are often not very regular and can produce mixed results. They also realized that the data obtained from experiments such as these provide us with valuable insights into the nature of randomness and uncertainty.

This experience not only teaches students about the concept of probability, but also brings mathematics to life in a real and engaging context. This is one example of how teaching mathematics by introducing experiments and justification discussions can bring great gains in students' understanding and inspire their curiosity and appreciation for the beauty of mathematics.

One of the biggest challenges I've had as a math tutor is understanding the diverse learning needs and abilities of students. Teach too slow, and the faster students' interest isn't piqued. Teach too fast and slower learners will miss too many fundamental concepts. But right now because of having a lot of experience teaching students privately, I've gotten much better at quickly differentiating the categories that new students will fall into.

I love teaching Math. I love to teach anything that I have put a lot of time into. I find that teaching is just a deeper way of thinking and connecting with your passion.
  • 8) Apa yang membuat Anda menjadi seorang Guru teladan ?

It is my passion and my will to teach and to be committed to my students, my thinking that people can learn anything with good guidance and compromise, the patience and constancy to follow learning processes, and the love that I have for teaching and for sharing with people that want to learn what I teach. I may not be the perfect instructor, but I will always try my best because I am driven by my passion!
