About Ramiro

I am Ramiro Marziani, and I am professional touring musician and instructor. I started teaching in High School and I then graduated from Berklee College of Music, Summa Cum Laude. I've lived and toured all over the world, currently based in New York City, and I love to teach. I give lessons in both ENGLISH and SPANISH (native speaker of both), specialized in teenagers and adults.
Subjects: 1. Guitar Lessons 2. Bass Lessons 3. Banjo/Mandolin/Ukulele Lessons 4. Music Theory Lessons.
I would love to add you to my roster of private students. With my students we do a monthly (4-lesson) prepaid plan. The first lesson is charged as a single, where we develop a plan to practice and improve the process based on your needs and schedule. I would love to work together, send me a message!

About the lesson

My career has consisted of playing and teaching a wide range of styles including— Rock, Folk, Jazz, Country, Blues, Latin American, Classical and everything in between.

I teach Electric, Acoustic and Classical guitar, from beginners to advanced, and also teach Singing and Playing Guitar—something I love doing with students who want to develop both their playing and their voice at the same time. I also teach Electric Bass, Banjo, Mandolin.

My Program & Method:
Every student is different, so every lesson is built around you—your taste, your goals, and the kind of music that excites you. That’s where we begin: What do you want to play, and why did you choose to pick up the guitar? From there, I’ll guide you step by step, showing you the most musical and effective way to reach your goals.

I work with students from all over the world and with every level of experience. I adapt quickly to explain things clearly, and—most importantly—to keep the learning process inspiring and fun.

A typical lesson might include:

- Working on a song you love
- Building up technique and muscle memory through targeted exercises
- Exploring music theory (when it helps you connect the dots)
- Developing your own musical voice, whether you're improvising, composing, or just jamming

Whether you’re just starting out, retired looking for a Hobby, or you’re a more experienced player looking to go deeper into your sound, I help you grow in a way that feels natural and exciting. I also teach in both English and Spanish.

Learning an instrument is a lifelong journey—and I build a lesson that always feels like something you want to do, not something you have to do. If you're ready to enjoy the process, stay motivated, and see consistent progress, I'd love to work together.

Perfect! Ramiro is incredible! As of writing this review, I have been taking classes for about a year. I had close to no guitar experience previous to this. Ramiro made me immediately feel welcome by walking you through songs and techniques that I experienced interest for! I've felt real progress, and I can't recommend enough giving classes with Ramiro a chance if you want to really give guitar a chance :)

Perfect! Ramiro is the man. Super chill, patient, and meets me where I'm at, with a wealth of musical knowledge and know how. Coming from banjo to nylon guitar, he's been helping me refine my technique for the instrument at hand.

Perfect! Ramiro is an incredible teacher! He's extremely passionate about music, and his guitar playing experience really spans a whole ton of different styles.
I've had lessons with Ramiro in person and over webcam, and have found him to be a great teacher every time! He makes sure to keep your goals in mind and has done a great job of setting up a long term plan for me to slowly build up to the pieces and styles I want to learn. Ramiro is also incredibly patient during our lessons, and helps me come up with exercises to practice techniques or sequences that I'm struggling with.
Without Ramiro as my teacher I don't think I'd have been able to make a fraction of the progress I've made. Ramiro is a great teacher and also incredibly fun person! I'd strongly recommend him to anybody interested in learning the guitar!

Perfect! Ramiro is an incredibly gifted musician; that much was made evident pretty quickly by his remarkable ear and extensive skill in so many styles of music. Even more impressive (if that’s even possible) is his ability to teach. Ramiro is so patient, intentional, thoughtful, supportive, and encourgaing. He meets you exactly where you are, every minute of every lesson, and flows with whatever your interests are (whether they be more abstract/theory-based or specific technique). Tackling the learning curve can bring out a lot of emotions and doubts, and he provides an incredibly safe space to navigate the ins and outs of your personal journey with music. His vast knowledge coupled with his ability to present information exactly when you’re ready to hear it as to not overwhelm yet still challenge you is really quite special. I cannot recommend Ramiro enough; I have progressed much more quickly than I had anticipated under his mentorship. I came in as a complete (adult) beginner, I’ve been working with him for around 8 months now, and plan to stay on with him for the foreseeable future. Worth every penny, and then some!

Ramiro is THE GUITAR/ BASS TEACHER you need. I’ve been taking bass classes with Ramiro for almost 3 years now. He is obviously a very talented musician but what I like the most is that he encourages me to keep going, he is patient, and loves music.
He is also fun to hang out with so it is the perfect combo!
I definitely recommend him!

Ramiro is one of the friendliest people I know. He is also the type of teacher everyone wishes they had. I began taking lessons with Ramiro nearly 5 years ago and there is a reason I stayed with him! I had taken guitar lessons in the past but Ramiro’s lessons really motivated me. He was always up for teaching me whichever song I wanted to learn and he also had great recommendations. Because I liked what I was playing, and because Ramiro suited the material to meet me where I was, I was motivated to practice and soon guitar playing became natural. It is a wonderful feeling when you learn how to play a song that you love so much. Ramiro helped me gain a lot of confidence in my guitar playing. I looked forward to weekly lessons with Ramiro—-which were filled with lots of laughs and learning. I fully recommend taking lessons with Ramiro. I am grateful that I found such a wonderful teacher, and you will be too.

Find out more about Ramiro

1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?
When I was very little, every time I saw an instrument or guitar, I was immediately excited. It wasn't until I found an old, abandoned Spanish guitar in my grandma's apartment in Argentina, that I began to play. I was 11 then, and took that guitar back to my home where I played it for 3 months, until my dad arrived home one day with tickets to see a prog rock band from the 70s that he loved. After that concert, I was hooked, and started taking private lessons, listening to all sorts of music, particularly my dad's love for 70s classic and prog rock. I then developed my own musical taste with Jazz, Flamenco, and Folk, accompanying the Rock n' Roll spirit that was first instilled in me. That curiosity for music, instruments and sound has remained with me all my life, and I am always excited to share it with my students and their goals.
2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?
There are two sounds in music that no matter the time of day I can listen to and become joyful. An Afro Cuban piano montuno, and a slow, lo-fi Hip Hop drum groove. That said, I enjoy listening to Mozart Piano Concertos as much as I enjoy playing along to John Coltrane Jazz Records, Megadeth riffs, or Dua Lipa. It depends on the time and mood of the day.
3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.
The ultimate student of music and the most difficult in terms of variety of skills is becoming an equally great instrumentalist and producer. I have some students with whom I work on improving on the guitar, and also learning how to produce music digitally, and put both together. In the industry of today, a professional musician like myself does both very well, and some of my students are interested in this path. As difficult as it can be, it is also rewarding, stimulating and empowering.
4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?
I would have to say the voice, as it is an "invisible" instrument. However, we've all tried singing and it is the most relatable one. Guitar also has a beginning learning curve, but the truth is once we get over that hurdle, it is one of the most versatile and satisfying instruments we can play.
5) What are your keys to success?
Passion to keep coming back and doing the work. Discipline to maintain that passion. Acceptance that we are all in our own time and skill level, and it is always worth it to improve yourself and only compare yourself to you.
6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.
1. Steve Howe - His versatility and influence on me as a multigenre guitarist is enormous
2. Pat Metheny - An amazingly insightful and intellectual composer and speaker
3. Sting - One of my favorite songwriters. Completely original and connected.
7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.
I had a private guitar teacher while I attended Berklee by the name of David Tronzo. He was a complete original in his approach to the instrument and music. He inspired me, gave me the confidence to look for my own sound, and also showed me a path to be connected psychologically and physically to myself, to stay in the present, and I really loved it. I think mentorship and friendship with your teachers is so important.
8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?
I like to connect with my students, find out what their interests are in music and beyond, and make the class about adding an element to their week that enhances their skills, goals and confidence. My lessons are about my students, what they want to learn, and how they want to feel, and that is how I build the curriculum.
