About Vanessa
I am a law and international relations student at Bond University from Calgary, Canada and studied Advanced Placement (AP) English in high school for 3 years. I got 100% on my AP English exam which tested my ability to write essays and do reading comprehension. For both my law and IR degrees, I am required to have a high level of writing (essay writing specifically) and I continue to achieve high grades on such essays. I have helped two university students with their essay writing skills and both of these students ended up improving their grades by at least 10% by the end of their semester. I have also helped high school students in Canada with this and their grades improved in the same way.

I cater my teaching style based on a student's learning style - whether they be audio, visual, or kinesthetic learners. However, I aim to tutor in a hands-on style. A basic structure of an essay writing lesson would be using printouts to explain certain techniques that make up a good essay, then showing the student an example I have used in my own writing, and allowing them to write during the lesson so they can apply the techniques they've learned.
