About Amanda
I am PhD student with experience teaching Portuguese for undergraduate students at Massey University, New Zealand. I am an associate fellow at the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA). The certification process includes demonstrating a certain level of understanding of effective teaching, student active learning and appropriate learning support methods to teach as a tertiary lecturer.

Based on the interactional approach to language teaching (Rivers, 1987), I design the lesson plan considering conversational exchanges and students interactivity with ‘real-life’ situations. I use my experience and creativity to include subjects that promote students’ engagement without losing sight of the learning outcomes established in the lesson plan.
