About Siobhan
Hi, I’m Siobhan — a British native English speaker and UK-educated professional with nearly 20 years of experience working across the UK, Middle East and Africa.
I have a BSc in Geography & Urban Planning and an MSc in Spatial Planning & Urban Design, alongside professional qualifications in communications, business & people management and public participation.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with people from many different backgrounds — from young children, students and communities to international teams, businesses, clients and senior stakeholders. A large part of my work has involved researching, writing, presenting, explaining complex ideas and helping people communicate with confidence.
I’m naturally curious and love learning about people, places, cultures and different ways of seeing the world. I bring that curiosity into my lessons, creating a relaxed environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes and build confidence without feeling judged.
Whether you're looking to improve your conversational English, strengthen your academic skills or explore Geography and Planning, I’ll tailor our sessions to you and what you want to achieve.
I believe learning works best when it feels useful, interesting and genuinely enjoyable.

I offer three connected areas of online tutoring, tailored to your goals, level and interests.
Conversational English — Speak with confidence
Practise real English with a British native English speaker in relaxed, supportive conversation sessions. These lessons are ideal if you understand English but want to become more confident speaking naturally.
We can talk about everyday life, travel, culture, current topics, hobbies or whatever interests you, while naturally working on vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and fluency.
I can also help you practise English for specific situations such as work, interviews, presentations, university or moving to an English-speaking country.
Academic English & Study Skills — Communicate your ideas clearly
I can help students develop the skills they need to succeed academically, including essay writing, research, reading and comprehension, structuring arguments, presentations, revision and study techniques.
My approach is to help you understand how to approach a task and develop your own confidence and skills, rather than simply providing answers.
Geography, Planning & Urban Studies — Connect learning to the real world
With a BSc in Geography & Urban Planning and an MSc in Spatial Planning & Urban Design, I can support students studying Geography, Human Geography, Urban Geography, Planning, Urban Design and related subjects.
Lessons can cover subject knowledge, coursework, exam preparation, research and university assignments. I particularly enjoy helping students connect theoretical concepts with real places, cities and the way people live and interact with them.
My teaching style
My lessons are friendly, conversational and practical, while still being structured around what you want to achieve. I adapt sessions to your age, level, learning style and objectives, whether you need regular tuition, help with a particular assignment or simply someone to practise with.
