About Rafael
About Me
I am an MA Theology graduate and Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) with a passion for helping students understand Theology, Religious Education, Philosophy, and Sacred Scripture in a clear, engaging, and meaningful way.
As a theology educator, I strive to create a respectful, welcoming, and intellectually stimulating learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, expressing their ideas, and exploring difficult topics. I believe that good teaching is not simply about providing answers—it is about helping students develop the ability to think critically, understand deeply, and apply what they learn.
My lessons are carefully prepared according to each student's academic level and learning needs. I use structured explanations, guided discussions, real-life examples, Scripture, historical context, and reflective activities to make complex theological and philosophical concepts easier to understand.
Whether you are preparing for an examination, working on an academic requirement, struggling with a difficult topic, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of Catholic theology and philosophy, I am committed to providing professional, patient, and personalized guidance.
My goal is simple: to help you learn with confidence, think critically, and discover the meaning and relevance behind what you study.

As a theology educator with an MA in Theology and a Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT), I believe that learning should go beyond memorizing concepts. My approach is student-centered, interactive, contextual, and faith-informed, helping students understand not only what they are learning but also why it matters in real life.
Teaching Method and Techniques
I use a combination of:
Interactive discussion – I encourage students to ask questions and express their understanding.
Socratic questioning – I use guided questions to develop critical and theological thinking.
Real-life applications – I connect theological and philosophical concepts with contemporary issues and everyday experiences.
Scriptural and historical analysis – For theology and Religious Education, I use Sacred Scripture, Church history, Catholic teaching, and relevant theological sources.
Case studies and situational examples – Students examine real situations and apply theological or philosophical principles.
Visual and structured learning materials – I use presentations, diagrams, summaries, and guided activities to make complex topics easier to understand.
Reflective activities – Students are given opportunities to connect lessons with their own experiences, values, and questions.
I also adjust my teaching style according to the student's level, learning needs, and background.
A Typical Lesson
A typical 60–90 minute lesson may follow this structure:
1. Introduction – 5–10 minutes
We begin by identifying the student's prior knowledge and introducing the main question or problem.
2. Concept Development – 20–30 minutes
I explain the topic step-by-step, using examples, Scripture, historical context, theological sources, or philosophical arguments when appropriate.
3. Guided Discussion – 15–20 minutes
I ask questions and encourage the student to analyze, clarify, and articulate their own understanding.
4. Application – 15–20 minutes
We apply the lesson to a real-life situation, case study, written exercise, or discussion.
5. Review and Reflection – 5–10 minutes
We summarize the key points and identify what the student should remember or explore further.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart is my ability to bridge academic theology with practical life and contemporary questions. I do not simply lecture or give definitions. I help students understand the historical, biblical, philosophical, and theological foundations behind an idea while giving them space to think critically and form well-reasoned conclusions.
I particularly enjoy helping students who initially find theology, philosophy, or religious studies difficult by breaking complex concepts into clear, organized, and relatable explanations.
