About Karabo
Hello, I’m Karabo, a Business English teacher and Business Transformation professional.
My approach to teaching English is shaped by something that goes beyond language instruction: I have spent much of my professional career working in the business environments in which my students are trying to communicate.
My professional background spans telecommunications, information technology, banking and financial services, with experience in programme and project management, business transformation, governance, stakeholder management, facilitation and cross-functional delivery. I have worked with complex business initiatives where communicating an idea clearly, managing different perspectives and bringing people into alignment were essential to achieving an outcome.
That experience is now an important part of the way I teach Business English.
I hold a Qualifi Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (168 hours) through The TEFL Academy, as well as certificates in Teaching Business English (30 hours) and Classroom Teaching Practice (10 hours). I have deliberately chosen to specialise in Business English because I believe professional language learning should connect directly to the real world of work.
I particularly enjoy working with adults who already have valuable professional knowledge but sometimes find that communicating that knowledge in English is more difficult than performing the work itself. My role is to help close that gap.
Whether you are preparing for an important presentation, struggling to contribute confidently in meetings, communicating with international colleagues, preparing for an interview, writing professional correspondence or simply wanting to become more confident using English at work, I approach your learning from the perspective of your professional objectives, rather than treating you as a generic language student.
I also believe strongly that learning English should not require you to become somebody else. Your accent, culture, personality and professional identity are part of who you are. The objective is to help you communicate your ideas more clearly and effectively while remaining authentically yourself.
Outside the classroom, I am building my own professional practice in business transformation and organisational performance, while continuing to develop my expertise in professional communication, emerging technologies and AI-enabled business improvement. I therefore approach teaching as another form of professional development: helping people unlock capability that is already there and make it more visible, understandable and effective.
I am particularly interested in working with intermediate to advanced adult professionals, managers, specialists, consultants and entrepreneurs who want their English to become a genuine professional advantage.

I teach Business English exclusively to adults and working professionals who want to communicate more effectively, confidently and strategically in the workplace.
My approach is different from traditional English tutoring because I do not treat Business English simply as a collection of vocabulary, grammar rules and conversational exercises. I approach communication from the perspective of a business professional who understands the realities of meetings, presentations, stakeholder engagement, project environments, workplace relationships and organisational change.
My professional background spans business transformation, programme and project management, stakeholder management, governance, facilitation and professional communication across telecommunications, information technology, banking and financial services. I bring that experience into my lessons so that English becomes connected to the professional situations in which my students actually need to use it.
My methodology is therefore practical, contextual and outcome-focused. Rather than simply asking whether your English is grammatically correct, we consider whether your message is clear, appropriate, persuasive and capable of producing the response you want.
Depending on your objectives, lessons may focus on:

A typical lesson is interactive and tailored to you. We begin by identifying a specific communication challenge or professional objective. We then work through relevant language, vocabulary, structure and tone before applying them to a realistic workplace situation. This might involve a simulated meeting, presentation, stakeholder conversation, interview, negotiation or professional writing exercise.
I also believe that your English should strengthen your professional identity, not replace it. You do not need to erase your accent, personality, culture or individuality to become an effective English communicator. My objective is to help you express the expertise you already possess with greater clarity and confidence.
My lessons are particularly suited to intermediate to advanced adult learners (approximately B1–C1) who already have professional knowledge but want to become more effective communicating that knowledge in English. I am especially interested in working with professionals, managers, specialists, entrepreneurs, consultants and other internationally minded adults who use English as a second or additional language.
I teach in English, and my lessons are conducted in English wherever the student's level allows. This creates an environment in which you can progressively develop the ability to think, respond and communicate in English within realistic professional contexts.
You already know your profession. I help you communicate that expertise.
My goal is not simply to help you speak better English. It is to help you use English as a professional capability — to participate, influence, explain, present, collaborate and lead more effectively.
