• Wie kommt es, dass Du diese Sprache fließend sprichst? Hängt dies mit Deiner Herkunft zusammen oder hat einst ein/e Lehrer/in die Leidenschaft dafür in Dir geweckt?

  I'm from the UK, from a town near Manchester more specifically! I studied German and French at university and moved here to Hamburg around 6 years ago now. Ich spreche auch gerne Deutsch bei Bedarf 😉

  For me, I'm a lover of classic English literature so it's got to be Jane Austen, Charles Dickens or the Brontë sisters. But I also love some British comedy, like Mr Bean or Monty Python, and I think this is a great way to practise a language.

• Gibt es in der Sprache, die Du unterrichtest, ein Wort, einen Ausdruck, eine Tradition oder eine typische Verhaltensweise, die Dich ganz besonders beeindruckt oder amüsiert?

• Warum ist es Deiner Meinung nach so wichtig, diese Sprache zu beherrschen?

  Learning English well can help you to travel more easily not just in England but in the whole world.

• Worin liegt die besondere Schwierigkeit, wenn es darum geht, diese Sprache zu lernen bzw. warum lohnt es sich ganz besonders?

  Sometimes you just need a little conversation practise to gain your confidence, or sometimes you just need to straighten out a few learned mistakes to make your communication smoother. It's also just great fun to feel your brain working and learning something new.

• Gibt es im Zusammenhang mit dieser Sprache eine Anekdote aus Deinem Berufsleben oder Deiner Schulzeit, von der Du uns erzählen möchtest?

  Having grown up in the UK and spent most of my life in English, I can tell you many anecdotes or stories out of my life and they would all be related to English. Now living in Germany, I'm finding it very interesting to see how many English words are actually used in German everyday language. Cool, sorry, nice, and many more.

  I grew up in the north of England, and studied in Cambridge, which is not far from London. I also spent one year studying abroad in Bonn before moving to Hamburg.

  The lessons are all in English - it's the quickest way to learn! However, I do speak German fluently if you need more support.
