About Kiana
I have completed the IB Diploma Program with an overall score of 42 points and am now a Law student at the University of Cambridge. I took economics for IGSCE where I scored an A* and in IB as a higher level where I scored 7 points. I have helped over 4 different students to achieve their goals in IB economics, including working on their Internal Assessment. One girl, for example, which I tutored managed to go from a low 4 to a 6 in both her IA and her overall grade. I love economics, I love teaching and Id love to help you!

My teaching is based on three very important concepts: individuality, continuity and success. My experience has taught me that every individual learns very differently and thus the key to my lessons is understanding how the individual student learns best. Knowing this it is easy to come up with a teaching strategy that will allow the students to reach their goals. Working hard is essential, but one should never neglect working smart. This approach includes patients and understanding. Instead of getting frustrated by students how fail to understand a concept, I aim at finding the flaw in my teaching approach as I believe that everyone can learn and understand any concepts taught at GCSE and IB, its just about discovering the way they learn.
Having identified how the student learns best it is all about continuity and consistency. This not only involves motivating the students to study and engage with the subject but also ensuring that I take part in their development every step of the way, doing more than the bare minimum. Depending on how much time they are planning to spend on the particular subject I will assign work to do and check this outside of lessons so that this can reviewed and discussed during our lessons. I am also always available to answer short questions that come up during their revision or in school via text or email.
Finally, I am a very driven and ambitious person and regard my students' success as my success. When I take on a student their goals become my personal goal and I will strive to achieve them. I have previously been told that this drive for success is infatuating and rubs off on my students.

Kiana tutored my son in German for two years. She helped him score highly in his GCSE and he has now decided to take German as one of his A Level subjects. If he struggles with that selection in any way I will be sure to reach out to Kiana again!
