About Mahina
I am rising senior at NYU pursuing a degree in cello performance. I have been playing the cello since I was 9 years old and I have loved it since. I have had extensive teaching experience in beginner/intermediate cello playing for 4 years. I organized lesson plans, taught a children's orchestra, and private lessons. A few of my most notable accomplishments/awards include:
- New York International Music Competition- 1st Prize
- American Protege International Competition for Piano and
Strings- 2nd Prize
- American Protege International Competition of Romantic Music-
3rd Prize
- International Camerata Artists Competition- 3rd Prize
- Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center- Honorable Mention

About the lesson

- Beginner/Intermediate students will focus on building a strong
base of cello technique through exercises and applicable
repertoire.
- Each week a series of 3 tasks will be given. A scale, an exercise,
and a short piece that exemplifies the assignments.
- I will design a customized method for each student to suit the way
they learn, as there are multiple ways to learn music and express
musicality.
- My goal is to make sure the student is happy with what they are
learning and create a open and friendly environment to learn the
fundamentals of the cello!
