About Lindsay
I have always had a passion for helping children learn and grow, which led me to earn my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University and my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and as an Intervention Specialist. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of teaching preschoolers, working with third graders, and supporting children with special needs. Each experience has given me a deep appreciation for the different ways children learn and how important it is to meet them right where they are. I have also received specialized training in phonics, which I use to help young readers build strong literacy skills and develop confidence in themselves as learners. Whether I’m tutoring one-on-one or working in the classroom, I love creating a warm, supportive environment where children feel encouraged to try their best.

My background in both early childhood education and as an intervention specialist has given me the tools to support learners of all abilities, including those who need extra guidance or individualized strategies. My lessons are especially well-suited for preschool through elementary students who may be struggling with reading, writing, or math, as well as students with special needs who benefit from patient, personalized instruction. Above all, I strive to create a safe, supportive space where children feel encouraged to grow into confident, capable learners.
My training in phonics and early literacy allows me to support young learners as they build a strong foundation in reading, writing, and math. I love tailoring each session to a child’s unique strengths and needs, always making learning feel encouraging and achievable.
My teaching style blends structured lessons with creativity and flexibility. A typical session often begins with a short review of previous skills, followed by engaging, hands-on activities that match the student’s learning style. For example, a reading lesson might include phonics games, guided practice with a short passage, and a confidence-building wrap-up activity. I believe in breaking learning into manageable steps and celebrating progress along the way.
