About Maya
I am a licensed elementary educator with a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and 4 years of classroom experience working with diverse learners. I specialize in helping students build strong academic foundations in reading, writing, and math while also developing confidence and independence as learners.
My teaching is rooted in relationship building, structure, and encouragement. I understand that every student learns differently, and I take time to identify individual strengths, learning gaps, and the strategies that will help each child succeed. I have known Maya since she was a baby, as she is my younger sister.
Maya has always had a special love for children. As a toddler she always had a baby doll that she would carry around with her, taking care of it as if it was a real baby. She started babysitting as young as 10 or 11 years old and continued on even through college.
She has been a 3rd grade teacher for a few years now, and not a day goes by where she doesn't pour her heart out into teaching her students.
The moment she smiles and laughs, the kids fall in love with her energy and are so eager to see what she will bring to the learning table.
Maya is super engaging, clear and concise; She makes her lessons fun while still being loaded with the fundamentals of core values and education. The kids never leave not having learned anything from her.
