As a tutor, I focus on creating lessons that are engaging, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs. My teaching method blends clear explanations with interactive activities that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. I use real-world examples, visual aids, and hands-on practice to help students connect abstract concepts to things they can actually see and experience. A typical lesson plan with me starts with a quick review to check for understanding, followed by a short mini-lesson where I introduce or reteach the core concept in a straightforward manner. Then, we move into guided practice where I model strategies step by step before gradually releasing responsibility to the student. I like to close each session with a reflection activity, students explain the concept back to me in their own words, or solve a challenge problem that shows me what “stuck” and what we’ll revisit next time. What sets me apart as a tutor is my dual background: I’m a Certified STEM Elementary (K-8) teacher with classroom experience, and I bring both strong content knowledge and an understanding of how students learn best. I know how to adapt lessons for different learning styles, break down complex ideas into manageable steps, and keep students motivated even when the work feels tough. My approach balances patience with high expectations, which helps students build confidence while pushing them to reach their full potential. My lessons are designed for upper elementary and middle school students who want to strengthen their skills in math and science. Whether it’s mastering fractions and decimals, diving into force and motion, or preparing for middle school challenges, I provide the support students need to not just “get through” their work but to actually understand it and feel good about it.
