About Cynthia
For many years, I've been playing the organ and piano in church, directing adult, youth, handbell, and folk, (guitar) choirs.
I love classroom music teaching (K-12) and school choirs.
I have taught privately for 19 years. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music and Elementary Education, (Magna Cum Laude), and
have done substantial Graduate work. I have loved teaching students from ages 4-84!

Let's start our lessons by getting warmed-up with fun and effective exercises. I'll gauge your progress and challenge you
along the way.
Next, we'll build your technique and add new skills.
You will have your basic method book, which will introduce enjoyable songs, and a progression of theory and music history.
The last part of each lesson will be for your favorite kind of music. So, you'll choose the kind of music you like best--
The music you wanted to play or sing when you decided to take lessons!
My specialties are: a sense of humor, patience, and flexibility.
I can sense when it's time for a little joke, time to step back a bit, or change gears. If something isn't working, I can use a variety of approaches.
