About Pratish

Namaste! I'm Pratish, a certified yoga teacher from India. I completed my 500-hour yoga teacher training at a Yoga Alliance-registered school in Rishikesh.

I offer online yoga classes worldwide, including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE, Singapore and Europe, as well as in-person home visits in South Bopal, Bopal, Ghuma, Shela, Ambli and Mumatpura, Ahmedabad.

Over the last 13+ years, I have guided more than 800 students in developing their yoga practice and supporting their physical and mental well-being.

My journey into yoga is deeply personal. Yoga helped me navigate depression and changed my perspective on holistic health, shaping my belief in caring for both body and mind through a consistent, mindful practice.

With an engineering background, I bring a structured, science-informed approach to traditional yoga, emphasising movement, alignment, body mechanics, mindful breathing and gradual progression.

I believe yoga should adapt to the individual, not the other way around. Your practice should respect your abilities, physical limitations, lifestyle and personal goals.

MY AREAS OF FOCUS

BACK AND NECK PAIN: Adapted yoga practices to support mobility, movement awareness and everyday physical comfort.

POSTURE AND DESK JOB-RELATED STIFFNESS: Developing posture awareness, mobility and better everyday movement habits.

STRESS MANAGEMENT: Using mindful movement, breathing and relaxation practices to support calm and well-being.

OVERALL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELL-BEING: Building flexibility, functional strength, body awareness and a sustainable yoga routine.

Beginners are welcome. You do not need exceptional flexibility or previous yoga experience to start. Your practice can progress at a pace suited to you.

My sessions combine traditional yoga with clear instruction, progressive learning and anatomy-informed alignment. I offer personalised yoga for beginners and experienced practitioners, including desk-based professionals and people seeking better posture, mobility, flexibility and stress management.

Every session is guided by your individual needs, experience, comfort and goals rather than following the same routine for everyone.

MY TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Explain → Demonstrate → Observe → Correct → Adapt → Progress

I explain each movement, demonstrate the technique and provide real-time verbal guidance and alignment corrections. I adapt the sequence, pace and level of difficulty according to your abilities, physical limitations, experience and daily energy.

You do not need to perform every pose or keep up with anyone else. My aim is to help you understand what you are practising, develop confidence and progress gradually through appropriate modifications.

MY RANGE OF PRACTICES

Practices are selected according to your goals, experience and physical suitability.

- 60+ Traditional Yoga Asanas: Progressive practice to develop mobility, strength, core stability and body awareness, with appropriate modifications for individual needs.

- 50+ Pranayama Techniques and Combinations: Traditional yogic breathing practices to develop breath awareness and support relaxation.

- Distinctive Breathing Techniques: Including Swaiso, Golden Nugget, Parshuram and Valmiki Pranayama.

- Surya Namaskar: Traditional Sun Salutations introduced progressively and adapted to your ability.

- Meditation and Mindfulness: Practices to develop awareness, focus and relaxation.

- Yoga Nidra and Shava sana: Guided relaxation practices to help you unwind and cultivate a restful practice.
- Jal Neti Guidance: Traditional nasal-cleansing practice discussed where appropriate, with attention to individual suitability and safe technique.

You are not expected to learn all the asanas at once. Practices are introduced progressively, allowing you to develop understanding and confidence over time.

A TYPICAL 60-MINUTE SESSION

2. Yoga Asanas — 15 minutes

5. Meditation and Relaxation — 10 minutes

This is a guiding structure, not a rigid routine. The practices and sequence can be adapted to your needs, experience and comfort.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Yoga became an important part of my own life because I experienced how a consistent practice can support physical well-being, mental calmness and greater balance in daily life. This experience motivated me to study yoga more deeply and eventually make teaching it my profession.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

My own experience with yoga showed me how valuable a consistent, well-guided practice can be for physical and mental well-being. I became fascinated by the depth of yoga and wanted to help others experience its practical benefits through personalized guidance.
  • How does your work help society?

Through yoga, I help people develop practical practices that support stress management, mobility, strength, flexibility, relaxation and overall physical and mental wellness. I adapt the practice to each student's needs rather than following the same routine for everyone.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

If I had to choose a role model for my work as a yoga teacher, it would be Maharshi Patanjali. He is traditionally credited with compiling the Yoga Sutras, which provide a clear framework for understanding yoga as a path of physical well-being, mental balance, self-discipline, and inner growth.

What inspires me most is that these teachings remain practical and timeless. They show that yoga is not only about physical postures, but also about breath awareness, mindfulness, emotional balance, and living with greater awareness in everyday life.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside of yoga, I enjoy reading books on self-growth and spirituality, listening to soothing music, and singing. I also love traveling to peaceful, remote places to connect with the beauty and serenity of nature. Spending time with my childhood friends brings me joy and helps me stay grounded.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One of my students came to me experiencing significant stress and difficulty sleeping due to work pressure. Through regular online yoga practice, along with breathing and relaxation techniques, the student gradually experienced improvements in relaxation, sleep and daytime energy. Seeing this positive change was one of the most rewarding moments of my teaching journey and reinforced why I value personalized, consistent guidance.
