About Elizabeth
I am a chemistry student at Durham University, in my third year. My hobbies are dance and lacrosse and when I was at school, I taught a group of students Latin grammar and culture as a volunteer. I was also head girl at my school so I am used to talking to people in a professional but engaging way. I have also done my Grade 8 flute exam and Grade 6 music theory as I like to be creative alongside studying for a science degree. I am very fond of painting and sketching but sport is my main hobby. Over the summer I volunteered teaching English to Polish juniors for a week and consequently have completed an advanced TEFL English online teaching qualification.

I am 20 years old and will give chemistry and German lessons up to A level standard. My course is a three year bachelors in Chemistry and I study German as part of my degree. I have previously taught primary school students Latin GCSE whilst I was a sixth form student, therefore I have a lot of teaching experience where engaging and involving students in lessons is the most important aspect. I do not believe in teaching from textbooks all the time! My lessons will include lots of interactive worksheets and games alongside a little textbook work in order to focus the lessons. I do not however believe in lessons based purely on textbooks and syllabi! Going the extra mile is very important for me, therefore I will teach the student above and beyond what is expected of them if they are curious!
As a person, I am very lively and bubbly but focused and dedicated therefore I will engage with my students rather than be a face on a screen that just talks! My lessons will be focused but fun so that the student can learn whilst enjoying their weekly session!
