About Valentina
My passion for chess began with an interest in strategy, logic, and problem-solving. I pursued a B.Sc in Mathematics and Cognitive Strategy Studies, which strengthened my analytical thinking and teaching approach. Over 10 years of coaching, I have helped learners improve their strategic understanding and confidence at the board. I believe chess instruction should be patient and adaptive. Many learners feel overwhelmed by complexity, so I focus on clear explanations and gradual progression. I encourage students to think independently and reflect on their decisions. Outside coaching, I stay engaged with chess through analysis, study of classic games, and competitive play. Teaching chess is deeply fulfilling because I see learners grow in focus, confidence, and strategic clarity. Helping students develop these skills is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

Chess becomes a powerful learning tool when students understand the logic behind each move and decision. My lessons focus on opening principles, middlegame strategy, endgame techniques, tactical patterns, and positional understanding. I emphasize thinking processes rather than memorizing moves, helping learners develop clarity, patience, and strategic confidence. Lessons are structured, calm, and intellectually engaging.
Lesson content is tailored to the learner’s level. Beginners focus on piece movement, basic tactics, opening ideas, and simple checkmates. Intermediate players develop positional awareness, calculation skills, game analysis, and planning. Advanced learners work on deep strategy, advanced endgames, tournament preparation, and psychological aspects of play. Practice games, analysis, and feedback are integrated into every lesson.
Chess lessons also develop concentration, logical reasoning, and emotional control. Students learn to plan ahead, evaluate options, and handle pressure calmly. My goal is to help learners enjoy chess while developing strategic thinking skills that benefit both the game and everyday decision-making.
