About Onur Kaan
I graduated from Trakya University Mechanical Engineering. I continue my master's education at Trakya University, Institute of Science. After getting my chess license in 2013, I took part in many tournaments in the city and represented Trakya University in the Interuniversity Chess Championship in 2014. In 2018, I worked as a chess instructor for my students between the ages of 3 and 5 at Masal Diyarı Çocuk Evin and Edirne Büyük Masters Şah Mat Sports Club for a period of 5 months.

Chess is a game, sport, and sometimes art, which includes deep analytical power and, for these reasons, helps the individual to view and solve the problems he / she constantly faces in his / her life. The age range I prefer to work is usually the age at which titled (FM, IM, GM) chess players start chess. At this age, I aim to make chess a part of their lives, rather than providing theoretical knowledge to children. These studies can be supported by visual elements with the help of parents. Chess includes chessboard, pieces and square coordinates. Square coordinates are used for writing the moves on paper (notation). I begin my work by introducing the board and coordinates first. Then comes the movement of the stones. Chess is divided into 3 parts as parts. These are: opening, middlegame and endgame. The opening is a theoretical and memorized beginning. I make an introduction to topics such as stone development here. It is best to move towards this part towards the end, because memorization never contributes to the individual's ability to question and analyze. The middle game and the end game is the part where the individual learns how to best direct the stones in his possession and how to attack and defend in a coordinated way. In this area, we have entered a large ocean that contains various combinations. Rather than applying a homework system, I find it appropriate to print a booklet that will include the necessary problems if the child is interested.
