About Jia Yi (Natalie)
I am very friendly, approachable and have experience with tutoring kids. Prior to my studies in Australia, I was a member of Interact Club in my Junior College, a Rotary-sponsored service organisation for youths. Throughout the two years of being a member of The Interact Club, I have participated in events including weekly peer-tutoring of young children from less-advantaged backgrounds. There was once I took up the job of tutoring a friend's sister for her Chinese Oral examination and I felt a sense of accomplishment as she learnt to master the language and feel more confident with conversing in Chinese. I have always loved Chinese lessons as a kid and believe that with my passion for the language I can inspire kids to enjoy learning and master Chinese as well.

I believe Chinese lessons should be kept short (an hour long at the maximum) and engaging for young kids who are interested in learning Chinese. This will prevent kids from losing their interest in the new language and look forward to their weekly classes. I will be happy to go through any Chinese reading or comprehensive materials with the student and read Chinese storybooks to young kids for them to be familiar with the language! :) I have been speaking Chinese with my parents since young and have achieved excellent grades during my studies in Singapore since young, including Distinction in Higher Chinese (PSLE, Singapore) in grade 12, Grade A1 in Higher Chinese (GCE O Level, Singapore) in grade 10, Grade A in China Studies in Chinese (GCE A Level, singapore). I was also a recipient of Special Assistance Plan Scholarship-Bicultural Studies Programme (Chinese) and a member of Chinese Debate in Secondary School.

Jia Yi is very helpful and always ensures that you will maintain good practices. She is also very hardworking and is willing to work hard with her students ! She is also extremely cheerful and will bring joy to learning :) I really enjoyed studying with her.
