Hi! My name is Chris. I’ve always been passionate about languages and communication. I enjoyed learning English growing up, and I’ve been learning French for the past few years—it’s been a rewarding and eye-opening experience. As someone who truly enjoys the process of language learning, I’m always curious about how people express themselves and connect across cultures. My approach to teaching Mandarin is friendly, supportive, and confidence-focused. I believe that learning a new language—especially one as unique as Mandarin—should be an encouraging experience, not an intimidating one.
My lessons are centered around real-life conversation. We focus on speaking and listening skills, useful vocabulary, and clear pronunciation. I use repetition, slow pacing when needed, and lots of encouragement so you feel comfortable expressing yourself, even if you’re just starting out.
Each lesson is adapted to your level and goals, but here's a general structure you can expect:
--Warm-Up (5 min)
We’ll begin with a relaxed chat or a review of what we learned in the last session.
--New Vocabulary & Phrases (15–20 min)
You’ll learn useful words and sentence structures based on real-life themes like greetings, ordering food, or introducing yourself.
--Speaking Practice (15–20 min)
We’ll use role-plays, guided conversation, or Q&A to help you apply what you’ve learned in a natural way.
--Wrap-Up (5 min)
We’ll review key takeaways and I’ll suggest simple ways to keep practicing between session
