About Alexis
I am a practicing cardiac physiologist with over three years of clinical experience working in the NHS setting. In order to qualify in this specialised field of healthcare practice, I have undertaken an undergraduate level bachelors degree, from which I graduated with a first class honours. Prior to this I also completed an undergraduate diploma in Physiotherapy, and Bachelors degree in Anatomical Sciences comprising of modules including physiology, anatomy, forensic anthropology and psychology. My academic and professional background has equipped me with a wealth of scientific and medical knowledge and expertise, along with a broad range of transferable skills and experiences. I am very keen to share this with others in order to inspire and facilitate learning and professional development in whatever the chosen capacity.

I strive to adopt a personalise teaching approach, by first establishing the students' current level of knowledge, specific goals and objectives as well as their preferred learning style. I would initially set out a personalised learning plan with defined targets and timeframes for completion. I would ensure that regular constructive feedback is provided throughout in order to help students learn, improve and progress with their learning. I would adopt a Present, Practice and Perform methodology whereby the initial concept/ subject is presented, followed by the student undertaking a relevant exercise to develop the concept and knowledge This is followed by the student presenting back the concept and perhaps undertaking an informal assessment, to establish level of knowledge and understanding.
