About Calvin

Hi, I’m Calvin, a dedicated and enthusiastic college student currently studying at CSI. I’m passionate about math and am working through precalculus and calculus in my own studies. I understand the challenges students face when tackling complex topics because I’ve been in their shoes, and I love finding creative ways to make math more approachable. Beyond academics, I enjoy hands-on learning and problem-solving, which I bring into my teaching style. I’m patient, supportive, and eager to help students not only improve their skills but also gain confidence in their abilities. Let’s work together to unlock your potential in math!

About the lesson

Teaching Method and Techniques:
My teaching approach is collaborative and student-focused. I break down complex concepts into simpler, relatable ideas and guide students step-by-step through problem-solving. I emphasize understanding the "why" behind mathematical concepts, not just memorizing formulas. I adapt my teaching to suit each student’s learning style, ensuring they feel confident and motivated.

A Typical Lesson Plan:

Start by reviewing previous material to ensure understanding and retention.

Introduce new topics with clear explanations and examples.

Solve practice problems together, gradually increasing difficulty.

Provide time for the student to work independently with my support if needed.

End with a recap and assign targeted exercises for reinforcement.

What Sets Me Apart:
As a college student currently studying precalculus and calculus, I understand the challenges students face because I’m learning alongside them. My approach is friendly, patient, and empathetic, making math less intimidating and more engaging. I also aim to make lessons fun by connecting math concepts to real-life applications.

Who the Lessons Are For:
My lessons are ideal for middle school and high school students who want to strengthen their skills in algebra, precalculus, and calculus. Whether you’re struggling to keep up or looking to get ahead, I can tailor lessons to meet your unique needs and goals.
