About Juan
I am a graduate of Cornell's fully funded MFA writing program, which has a 0.08% acceptance rate. There I tempered my voice under the tutelage of masters in criticism, essay writing, indigenous studies, and the modern tradition. After receiving my master's, I was chosen to stay at Cornell as an instructor in creative writing and first-year academic writing seminars.

Together we will craft ideas worthy of sustained inquiry. My sessions are personalized and goal-oriented--designed to give you the critical tools and referential strategies necessary for prolonged autodidacticism and scholarly achievement. Having completed my thesis under the mentorship of award-winning poet Ishion Hutchinson, my pedagogy is coordinated within decolonial theory and modernist traditions of D.F. da Silva, Sir Geoffrey Hill, and Derek Walcott.
