About Iris
Ciao! Benvenuti, my name is Iris and I am a young Italian woman based in Glasgow. I come from sunny Venezia, where I studied History and Philosophy at Ca' Foscari University, but my background also includes languages. Italian is my native language, I speak English fluently but I also speak a bit of French and German.
I am an enthusiastic and creative person, I love reading and writing. I have tutored children for years when I was younger, varying from maths to languages and literature. I lived both in Italy and in the Netherlands, where I studied Gender and Cultural Analysis and where I deeply enjoyed being in an international environment. I love working with people (in fact, I've always worked in public-facing environments) and I found my home in Glasgow, which I do love.

As a teacher, I don't believe in plain and theoretical learning. On the contrary, I believe in using everyday objects and situations to study: that's why I like taking examples from movies, videos, news features, etc. I can give lessons to young and old, adapting the structure to your needs and discussing everything with you. I do value feedback, so you're more than welcome when you tell me what you would like to do!
