About Amanda
I graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South with a B.S. in Psychology and Neuroscience in 2018. I completed a M.S. in Biomedical Sciences at Vanderbilt University in 2020. I am a current 3rd year medical student at Tulane University School of Medicine. My intended speciality is neurosurgery. I have 2 years of experience in ACT/SAT prep and a year of experience in high school tutoring. I think MCAT and USMLE STEP 1 can be big scary exams, and the tutoring services offered by most programs are over priced. Most students just need some help identifying areas of improvement, developing a study schedule, and having accountability and the opportunity to talk through complex topics and sticking points. I want to help students learn how to not only ace these exams, but to develop some skills they can take with in their future studies!

An individualized study plan will be developed for interested students planning for the MCAT or USMLE STEP 1. Teaching methods include visual learning aids, case based learning, and algorithms. Exam taking techniques will also be discussed for students who may benefit from talking through how to approach taking large standardized exam such as MCAT or USMLE STEP 1
