About Hayley
I became a teacher after spending two years in marketing in London after university. Following this, I spent a year travelling which included teaching English to children in South East Asia. I realised then that I wanted to teach and applied for a PGCE in History at the University of Sussex. I have been teaching in secondary schools and 6th forms for 14 years now in the Sussex area. I developed a love for education and studied in the evenings for a Masters in Education, also at Sussex uni, where I graduated with Distinction. I’m currently also an examiner for Edexcel and AQA. I love classroom teaching and helping students achieve their full potential. However tutoring is also great and you can really work 121 with students to create a bespoke programme of study to help students achieve top grades. I am also a mum of three and love nature and being outdoors. I have a dog, cat and 3 chickens!

My lessons are based around the needs of the individual student. In the first session student strengths and weaknesses will be assessed and a bespoke tutoring plan will be created. I have an in-depth knowledge of exam requirements - both content and skills for GCSE and A level specifications across Edexcel, OCR and AQA exam boards. Tutoring will focus both on improving students' knowledge of content but also on the exam skills needed to achieve the top grades. Typical tutor sessions are 1 hour long but can be longer (A level lessons may need more time). Lessons available for KS3, KS4 and KS5 students.

Perfect! Hayley is an exceptional tutor who goes above and beyond to ensure her teaching is tailored to the relevant syllabus and topics. She prepares her lessons and resources meticulously in advance, creating a well-structured and engaging learning experience. Throughout the session, she captured my daughter’s interest and checked her understanding through quizzes and exam-style questions, reinforcing the material effectively. Hayley is dedicated, exceptionally well prepared, and highly organised. Since working with her, my daughter’s grades and confidence have improved significantly. Most importantly, Hayley has taught my daughter excellent exam technique, which was previously our biggest challenge.
