About Virginia
I know that math can sometimes feel frustrating or confusing, especially when a topic just doesn’t seem to click. My goal is to make lessons feel less like extra schoolwork and more like a chance to properly understand the subject at your own pace.
I’m patient and happy to explain things in different ways until they make sense. Whether you’re struggling with a particular topic, preparing for an exam, or simply want to become more confident in math, I’ll work with you to figure out what works best for you. I want students to leave each lesson feeling like they understand more than when they started — and a little more confident in their ability to tackle the next problem.

I am a Structural Engineering student at UCD with a strong background in mathematics, having studied up to Multivariable Calculus for Engineers at university level. I also have previous experience tutoring students in math during secondary school, as well as helping younger students, including my younger brother.
My teaching approach is to make math as clear and approachable as possible by breaking difficult topics down into smaller steps and working through examples together. I focus on understanding the reasoning behind a solution rather than simply memorizing methods, while adapting lessons to suit each student's level and areas they find challenging.
I would typically recommend 1-hour lessons, as this gives enough time to cover new material, practice questions, and address any difficulties without becoming overwhelming.
I am happy to teach students of a range of ages and abilities, from younger children beginning to develop their math skills through to secondary school students preparing for exams or looking to strengthen their understanding of more advanced topics.
