Depending on the needs of the student I would tend to teach using multiple different methods to keep it interesting and engaging, for example I find that having the student teach me is helpful to consolidating their knowledge whilst allowing corrections to be made, as well as using tools such as flash cards an quick fire questions paired with longer essay practise to prepare for exams as best as possible!
