About Chan
Hello, my name is Chan Lee and senior in UCI and will graduate in spring with an economics degree. I have taught middle school and high school students in algebra and pre-calculus for 2 years. Most of them weren't doing well in the class but by the end of my tutor, they all ended with at least an A-. I am a understanding tutor and will be matching my tutoring style to the student's need and situation.

I truly believe that everyone is different and requires a different approach when learning. Some children require lots of reassurance with words like "good job!" or "You are doing well!" to do well and be motivated. Others require strictness and bluntness to feel motivated. For these type of students I usually give a logical explanation as to why and what they are doing wrong. My lesson plans usually go as following: First assess where in their math knowledge they are in. Then, see the math book their teacher is going off of and then do a method I call pre-learning where I teach them the concept and how to solve the problems before they learn it in class. This will allow the student to be able to absorb the teachers teaching more as it won't be a new concept for them but more of a review.My teaching style is usually for middle school and high school children.
