About Liva
I am an enthusiastic piano tutor with 21 years of experience and a track record of teaching around 300 students. My learners include teenagers, college students, and adults, each with unique goals, whether it’s exam preparation, performance, or personal enrichment.
My teaching philosophy centres on building strong technical foundations while fostering creativity and musical expression. I emphasise posture, hand coordination, finger independence, rhythm, scales, sight-reading, and theory integration. Students learn not just how to play but also how to interpret and connect with music emotionally.
Lessons are structured to balance technical exercises, repertoire, and theory. Beginners develop confidence through foundational exercises and simple pieces, while advanced students refine performance skills and tackle complex compositions. Many of my students have achieved excellent examination results and performed successfully in recitals.
My mission is to inspire students to become confident, expressive, and independent pianists who enjoy their musical journey.

My approach to teaching piano combines strong communication, creative exploration, flexibility, and structured development. Piano requires both technical discipline and artistic expression, so I guide students step by step in building both areas. I focus on scales, chords, arpeggios, coordination, and rhythm control. Each technique is clearly demonstrated and explained in simple English.
Communication helps students understand their strengths and areas for improvement. Creativity keeps lessons engaging by encouraging students to explore dynamics, phrasing, and different musical styles. I include improvisation and simple composition exercises to strengthen musical thinking.
Flexibility allows me to personalise lessons according to each learner’s pace and ability. I also guide students in developing effective practice routines and time management skills. In addition to piano instruction, I teach theory, harmony studies, and ear development. My aim is to create disciplined and passionate musicians.
