About Hazel
My chess lessons are designed to be immersive, strategic, and tailored to the individual needs of each student, regardless of their age or skill level. With a foundation built on over three years of coaching and mentoring experience, I aim to instill a deep understanding of the game while nurturing critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
Each lesson begins by assessing the student's current level of chess knowledge and understanding. This initial evaluation helps me create a personalized lesson plan that addresses specific areas for improvement, whether it's mastering basic strategies, advanced tactics, or enhancing positional understanding.
I believe in a hands-on approach to learning, where students actively participate in analyzing positions, solving puzzles, and playing practice games. This interactive style not only reinforces theoretical concepts but also develops practical skills, such as pattern recognition, calculation, and time management.
As a seasoned Chess Grandmaster, I draw from my own tournament experiences and strategic insights to guide students through complex scenarios and strategic decision-making processes. I emphasize the importance of adapting strategies to different game phases, understanding opponent's motives, and maintaining composure under pressure.
Feedback and progress monitoring are integral parts of my teaching methodology.
