In my experience with Gideon, he taught me many different skills, techniques and genres. He will open your eyes to a whole new variety of music. He helped me through Rock School grades 1 to 8, and then carried on making my skills and techniques a lot better.
Gideon is very patient, committed and thrives on success. He has been a very good role model for myself and will be to any new students.
He will make you a better all-round musician.

Gideon Woods has taught me since I was in primary school, and ever since then I have stuck with him. He has the knowledge and skills to get the very best out of you and your lesson. He pushes you to your limits and is extremely passionate about his career in the music industry. If you have a specific genre of music or playing style, he will go out of his way to learn it himself and train you to get better.

Gideon continued to tutor me through my high school years, further developing my performance and music reading skills, not forgetting exam preparation and ensemble work.
Gideon is a fantastic musician and drum tutor. He improved my all round musicianship as a whole and brought my playing up to a Grade 8 standard. I would recommend him to anybody looking to learn how to play the drums from beginner level upwards, his first class tuition skills really made a difference to my playing.

I began group tuition with Gideon at the age of 10. I was quickly introduced to his own course booklet, which simplified standard music notation into a much easier format.
Whilst undergoing tuition in school hours, I also attended a weekly class that Gideon ran every Saturday at a local high school. The class not only improved my music theory dramatically, but also improved my playing and performance techniques by showcasing my new drumming skills in an annual production for family and friends.

I have also performed in many concerts and on a variety of records.


As a teacher Gideon is, patient, keen to help and oozes passion for music. Overall I would recommend Gideon as a teacher to anyone who wants to learn drums and be inspired to play music.


I have been playing the drums now for over 11 years and Gideon has taught me for the entirety. I have progressed musically in a way that I didn't think I could, but with Gideon's help and belief in me,
I was able obtain a Grade 8 Distinction in Drums.
