About Nores
I received a PhD in German studies and culture from the University of Melbourne in 2018, where I have been teaching as a language tutor since 2015, even if I have been a private tutor for 20 years in 4 different countries. My academic background includes linguistics, theater, literature, gender studies and philosophy. To this date I have taught various languages, drama, literature and Gender Studies to over 100 private students (and many more in classrooms), all of whom have passed their tests and exams as needed.

I request commitment and a genuine desire to learn and in return I offer real and substantial progress and fluency in a difficult language. My price may seem high when compared to students and other less qualified tutors, but I offer quality, understanding and skills that are hard to find. I teach in a way that is organic to the student's favorite learning techniques. If the student is unaware of their preference, I explore options and test results in order to find the most effective approach. Contrary to the Anglo-Saxon method, I do not only ask to memorize expressions and sentences, but I teach proper grammar, so that students understand how to say what they want instead of depending on a few specific words. I always like to create a relaxed and pleasant environment, where the student can talk freely and express their concerns and needs in the most honest way.

Nores is really a great teacher: knows how to deal with students, speaks several languages, is hugely knowledgeable in grammar and makes even the most difficult rules become clear and easy. Really and highly recommended
I met Nores at university. He was finishing his PhD when I was starting it. I had some knowledge of German, but not enough to understand some articles and texts that I needed. I was also dating a German guy whose parents could not speak English, so I could not talk to them. Nores offered to teach me and thanks to him in just a few months of classes and following his suggestions about what to do in my own time, I managed to use the sources I needed and can now communicate easily with my in-laws. He's a nice, friendly guy, with an amazing understanding of grammar, languages and linguistics and I know for a fact he will be able to help you, too.
I have studied German and Italian with Nores for just under one year and my fluency in both languages has improved significantly. I started seeing progress after a few weeks and it is thanks to his grammar classes that I could pass 4 exams. I cannot recommend him enough.

Details
Please note that the travel cost only applies if I need to travel more than 15 minutes from my place of residence or from where I will be before meeting you (whichever is more convenient to you on a day-by-day basis) and is charged at increments of $5/additional 5 minutes after the first 5 minutes. So, if I need to travel 16-22 minutes, you will still pay an additional $5/lesson. Please also note that I am happy to travel more than 40km (I can also get to Melbourne most days), but we will need to agree on a travel rate before our first meeting. Please also note that lesson packages have to be paid in advance for the discount to be used. Finally, please be advised that the first 30 minutes are free only for classes that take place online, within a 15-minute drive or for a class of at least 90 minutes.
