About Anjali
After getting my Engineering degree I decided to switch to a more hands on career in the trades. I am now in school to become a Plumber. My post secondary education allowed me to explore highly advanced mathematical and scientific topic like differential calculus, linear algebra, statistics, statics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, material science, etc.
I have many years of experience working with children. I have been a camp counselor for two summers leading programs in science and engineering. I also used to be a swimming instructor for children at the YMCA where I also volunteered as an assistant coach for a swim team. My volunteering experience also expands to being a sheet marker for Kumon.
Speaking of Kumon, I made it to level I in there math program. In high school I consistently scored in the 90th percentile in all my math classes. In high school I had a great love for science, specially chemistry and biology and I consistently scored in the 80th and 90th percentile in such courses.

My instructional philosophy is steeped in understanding the specific struggles of the student. Often times students, for one reason or another, suffer from a lack of confidence in their ability to understand concepts and properly demonstrate their understanding. My goal is to help students find their learning style and restore confidence in their own ability to learn anything they set their minds to.
Over the years I have tried and tested a lot of different studying techniques like making detailed note/queue cards, highlighting existing notes out loud and reading them out loud, breaking studying material into chunks, mock testing, learning from examples, etc. I have seen over the years that different strategies work for different people depending on their learning style. I would love to share my years of studying experience and all of the tips and tricks I have learned along the way.
With my understanding of the psychological needs of students in combination with my knowledge of studying techniques, I can make a highly competent tutor for high school and elementary school students.
